Of each dye lot several dye cones are taken out for testing. From each cone a
continuous fabric knit-down is produced consisting of the 3 parts of the cone which
are outside, middle and inside. This will allow to check whether the cones in the dye
lot have absorbed the color evenly.
Each knit section is compared to the color standard on file. And at least one section
is measured against the standard in the color spectrophotometer.
Only if visual evaluation and spectrophotometer values are within tolerance, the yarn
lot is released for production.
In addition a color fastness to laundering test is performed
on dark colors. Tested is
staining on Cotton and Nylon.
